The city of Bakersfield is composed of several neighborhoods. These include Downtown Bakersfield, Buck Owens Boulevard, Stockdale, Westchester, and Kern City, to name just a few. Other neighborhoods include Southwest Bakersfield, Northwest Bakersfield, Rio Bravo, Northeast Bakersfield and Old Town Kern.
A lot of tourist attractions are dotted all throughout Bakersfield. The McMurtrey Aquatic Center, which boasts of a Olympic-size pool, and the Bakersfield Museum of Art are favorite attractions in Downtown Bakersfield. The Buck Owens0 Crystal Palace is another hotspot, specifically for country music fans. Various Buck Owens memorabilia are displayed on the walls of the Crystal Palace. The Kern County Museum in Westchester has more than 50 exhibits, including the famous Lori Brock Children0s Discovery Center and the Black Gold: The Oil Experience. The Rabobank Arena is a center for various forms of entertainment, including concerts, sports activities and circuses.
